Well, before I came to this site, I was an avid Fiona Apple
fan....I just wanted to say you changed my whole opinion of
this lousy ass bitch. She is really an alcholic and I am glad
you made me see the light. Thanks
i do love fiona, ill say that up front, but i will also
say you make some good points. since you also stated you will
argue with intellegent people, and i consider myself one, i
will tell you how fiona does rock, in my opinion.
about the not a role model thing:
1) her mtv speech. it was honest, the world is bullshit, and a
lot of honesty comes out when youre drunk. 2) she openly
drinks-so??? what about the "live fast, die hard" motto. the
way i see it, and maybe fiona herself sees it, is youre going
to die anyway, no preventing that, so why not cram in as much
fun as you can??? 3 medication tested on animals, but she still
takes it-that cant be prevented. if its decent, NEEDED, legal
medication, she'll have to take it. 5) eating disorders-shes
thin cos shes vegan. 6) weakness-it always hurts when someone
makes fun of you, it doesnt matter who you are, or what kind of
"skin" you should develop. she proably craves the good word of
others, "wanting to make people like her" and all. 7)
school-stay home all day and write poetry??? sounds like a
dream to me!!! i guess the right-brained thinkers like fiona
and myself, and, im sure, many others, school is not a
priority. i consider myself quite smart, and get horrible
grades. 8) kids-at least she knows she would screw them up
before she has them. who is she hurting??? a lot of abused
children would have been better off if their parrents realized
they wouldnt be good parrents. 10) dying young-maybe its her
medication talking??? maybe she was drunk??? maybe she just
knows. i know im going to die young, cos i had my terot cards
and my palm read, and both predictions said i was to have a
short life.
i say again you made good points, espescially the one about
the turkeys, but i think fiona is a role model because she is
honest. and she has faults, it makes her human.
the quotes:
"[an institution] would be good for me" - maybe shes just
realizing she needs help. i kow im weired and could benifit
from the help of professionals, but i like my eccentricity.
"i dont want to be the rape poster girl" - she never talks
about it. whats wrong with tori???
on getting people to listen to her- thats whay she said it was
sick. when you feel the music, you just groove, like manson, or
trent reznor. would you rather she was a spice girl, and had
massive choreographed numbers, with flashing lights???
well, thats all i have to say now. please take what i said in a
totally un-bitchy manner, and reply to share your thoughts.

Fiona Apple is one of few rock stars who is willing to
admit she doesn't have all her shit together. For all of you
who moan about her attitude, get off your self-righteous asses
and remember what it's like to be 20.
Why must all people insist on depicting Fiona as a broken
angel, depressed teenager or a damsel in distress. In reality,
she's a realist who tells it like it is and her lyrics are
hinest and strong.
She's a rennovating creative female and she's my role model so
you voodoo witch freaks look at you, what the fuck did you do
that's so damn great? You get off your ass and make your own
god damn record if your so dissatified with hers!!! She's a
hell of a lot better han you. I'm glad to see your face posted
all over the internet so FUCK YOU!
I feel like a hypocrite myself. I love your web-page and
everything it says, especially the fact that you have varying
POV's. However, I listen to Fiona's album & I love her
lyrics and music. I used to be an avid Fiona-Hater, I wouldn't
even think to listen to her music because of the way she
presented herself and what she had to say. Not to forget to
mention how all of my male friends drooled over her anorexic
figure and her sunken-in eyes. Then, I was forced to hear her
music and read her lyrics by a dear friend of mine who knew my
musical taste. It made me feel like such a jerk, I enjoyed it
so much. So, then I began my quest to find something noble
about Fiona's personality. I thought, "surely someone who
writes like this has soul and depth. I haven't been impressed
by anything she had said thus far. I would also like to add
that I hope she didn't say anything rude about Tori Amos
because Tori is a true role model full of strength, beauty,
vision and talent. And even though I like Fiona's a album, she
doesn't hold a candle to Tori. I suppose my point is that it's
about the music first and how the music makes you feel.
Everyone has a right to their opinion, to love or hate, as long
as it's done in an intelligent and very open way, such as you
have done. You're doing a great job. I think it's necessary to
see both sides of the coin when looking for information. Thank
you!
To start things off, yes I am a Fiona fan, or a fan of
her music, anyway. I also believe in the freedom of expression,
so I'm not going to curse at you or anything. I don't think
that you are horribly unintelligent, but you might not be able
to see that from looking at your site. It may be "all in fun"
to you, but if tearing people apart is an activity you find
amusing, you may want to look into other activites. If you're
so critical of what other people say, etc., please take a look
in the mirror and you'll find that you do the same thing. No
one is perfect, and anyone who makes a role model out of a rock
star should look for someone more stable, like their parents.
Additionally, as a person suffering from an eating disorder
myself, I found your comments pertaining to that subject cruel
and unnecessary. I sincerely hope you can find something better
to do with your time.

When I first surfed into this site, I actually planned to
send you hate-mail and say you were total idiots for dissing
Fiona. But after reading the 10 resons, quotes etc., I have to
say I agree with you. The MTV awards speech sucked, she's too
skinny, has no sence of humour and takes herself way to
seriously. I still like her music, but as a person I think
she's totally messed up. That animal-rights stuff she's into is
obviously just to make the impression that she cares about
something else but herself.
Anyway, I think it's a bit sad that you guys bother to hate a
person you don't even know. But hell, the girl really IS an
idiot, so I guess it's ok.
Keep up the good work!
I looked your site over and I have just one question. Why
do you care so much about what Fiona Apple says and does? I
wasn't aware she was running for public office. I am
indifferent to her, just as I am indifferent to all celebrities
that say stupid shit everyday. And the more you rant and rave
about her makes me wonder about your psychological problems. At
least she's getting paid to embarass herself, which is more
than I can say for you.
There's one thing missing from your ten reasons to hate
Fiona Apple, and that is "Music"! Beccause you can't criticize
it, she has too much tallent. She is very young and has the
right to make the same stupid mistakes we all made as a kid
without having to have a degree in social scinces and polotics.
The stupid little nit picky things that you are saying could
probably be said about thousands of people, and probably worse
about yourself, if you dug into the closet far back enough. You
only wish you had the privelage to be drunk on tv, hell I know
I do. It's just like the thing with presedent Clinton; "If we
talk about the sex scandal long enough, all and any good things
that the man tried to do will be ignored, and then nothing will
be acomplished." Anyway, it's just the typical modern American
way of life today, to mud sling and find fault and judge
artists by their personal life. "Oh! what a big and sudden
shock to my system! there are actually artists out their with
personal problems who get drunk! I never knew! I guess watching
'Amadeas' wasn't a big enough clue!!" I don't like Hanson
either, but I wouldn't waiste my time making a web page to
criticize them. But the point I'm trying to make here is this,
Fiona has great tallent, (could you sing like that?) and I
don't care what she says, how many drugs she takes, who she
sleeps with. What I wanna say can be summed up in eight words:
" Who gives a shit? listen to the record."
This comment is not all that accurate. I do like Fiona a
lot, but I don't think that you are insensitive....yet. I
respect that you are speaking your mind and not trying to have
a really stupid site like "Music" or "Reading and Writing" (I
speak from experiance! I respect that you have all of your
ideas organized and the whole page is not a message in big bold
letters saying'FIONA SUX AND WE HATE HER!!!!!' Just thought
that I would let you know!! :o)

I am so glad I found this website. I can not stand Fiona
Apple. Why did Mtv let her win Best New Artist? All she did was
complain about how sucky the world is. Uh, excuse me, maybe
because the world sucks is your attitude, and how you teach
kids to be a heroin addict. Oh, by the way, wash your hair.
Just kidding about the insensitive cur thing, it was the
best thing you had up :> I just want to say that, while I am
an avid Fiona fan and have made it my hobby to defend her, I
have the intelligence and good humor to say that it is truly
hilarious. I actually found this link on a Fiona fan site (I
even have one myself). I just want to say that as a musician
and aspiring starlette I appreciate Fiona's music, but as a
person I appreciate your site. I think there should be sites
for anything, and satirical hate-sites are always cute, even if
you're a fan.
I have already dropped a note in you guest book already,
but I have one more thing to say, I think that you have an open
mind to critizism, which is lacking in some peole these days. I
guess you have to if you have to listen to these people raving
on about how much they hate you. Is'nt it wierd that they are
really contradicting themselves because some people get on and
say, you should'nt trash people down, but on the other hand,
what are they doing? They turn around and trash you! If you
have your own opinions I say express them, and if other people
do not like it well they do not have to listen to what you have
to say. Anyway, I hope people try to realize this. Good-Luck!
I am not a big fan of Fiona Apple but no one should judge
a person because she has a couple of problems. I can understand
where you are coming from, some people have different views on
different things. There are a lot of people out in the world
that suffer from some form of addiction or another. And if you
did not like what she said on MTV that's O.K, me personally do
not agree with slaughtering animals, but I would never hold
that against you. I'm sure she did not think that the whole
world would listen to her. You would be surprised how many
people think that saving these animals is a good idea. But you
have to face the facts, people are going to eat meat, it's a
fact of nature! Here is some food for thought, BIG or small
some people did or still are making mistakes, imagine what our
world would be like if we never made mistakes, would we still
call ourselves humans?
reading some of the othe comments on the page made me wonder
why Fiona fans are reading this in the first place. you knew
what you were getting into when the page had "offensive
material" or whatever in bold type. don't get me wrong, i like
Fiona's music but i really don't pay too much attention to what
she says because i've heard it all from my eighteen year old
sister. she has a lot of growing up to do and doing it under
public scrutiny is just going to make her more of an
insensitive ass... just like we all are in our spare time. we
all are just so darn lucky that a slew of papparaziod hounds
arren't camped in our living room to record every ounce of shit
we take in the morning lavi. i'm glad that she has her own
oppinions and expresses them in a productive and
anti-(physically)violent manner, what she needs is a lesson in
sensitivity and tact. one of the major hazzards of the
occupation she is in is that she is gonna be seen as a role
model wheter she likes it or not. not only that but the
numereous action she takes and statement she makes will be
dissected and analized and molded back into whatever meaning
everyone else would like to read. i don't like what she's said
about tori and i like less what she's had to say about
jeanine(?).; attacking two of he more popular role models who
accept their fate and still don't wanna sell out is a big no-no
in our eyes. and yeah, she forgets that she's being listened
to.... but then again she's got to deal with the consequences
along with the growing up. folks, Fiona's worst enemy isn't
this site or others like it, but Fiona herself.
Wow. I just bough the Tidal CD after hearing it on
vacation with a friend. I really liked it so I looked up some
stuff about her on the web and found not only your site but a
bunch of people whole thinks she is arragant ind imature oh
well. I also noticed that all of her 1998 tours where
cancelled. What happened? Did she finally go into rehab is is
she just so lame that she cancelled all her shows?

If you have the time, please set up a I Hate Natalie Imbruglia
site as well. I beleive she is the herald of the Apocalypse. No
other "artist is as pathetic and incapable of anything
resembling art as her. thank you for heaing my rant.

Jesus, people, get a life and stop sucking it out of
everybody else! You're talking as if you are perfect.. Who
gives a fuck about what Fiona said or did or whatever? Her
voice is great so I'll do the right thing and listen to the CD
not some billshit comments for her how to live HER life... I
mean, get a life you people... You are the ones who are
whining... (And that voodoo curse shit is really idiotic - or
you scared of her or are you just jealous? Well, it sure seems
that way...).
This is directed towards the people who "love Fiona
Apple": I think Fiona Apple is really hot, and she is very
talented. She sings very well. But I think everyone who e-mails
these guys saying they suck is really immature. First off all,
you aren't saying much about yourselves seeing as how half of
you can't spell. You are degrading yourselves. The guys who do
this page are very funny, I think. Second of all, guys, why are
you coming to this page if you love fiona apple so much as a
person? Let the guys do as they wish..they aren't hurting
anyone. Fiona Apple is beautiful, but to go as far as to tell
these guys go to hell..is just plain ignorance. So in
conclusion, grow up..people are just having fun.

I totally agree with your page. What I don't understand though
is why she says on the MTV video awards we shouldn't do what
famous people are doing to be like them. But she was trying to
convience people to not eat turkeys because of her. Why else
does she think PETA asked her to be on their message?
Yes, I am a Fiona fan. I love her lyrics, I love that she
experiments with different styles of music, and I think that
because she writes the lyrics she does, she proves herself to
be quite intelligent. That said, I also don't approve of the
blind adoration of many of her fans (calling her a "goddess"?)
She's a great songwriter, but hardly a goddess. Although I,
too, was taken aback by the MTV speech, after I allowed myself
to process it, I realized that although it came out less than
tactfully, her message in itself was sincere and noble. When I
read the article about her in Rolling Stone, I realized that
despite her intelligence, she is still only 20 years old! She's
a 20-year -old who, because she needed (and wanted) an
emotional outlet was placed in a position not many people would
be comfortable in! She is a human being who might NOT always
know what to say or do, but do any of us? We should look at her
musical ability, and stop commenting on what she believes
personally or says under the pressure of a million flashbulbs
and a microphone thrust in her face. Because in the end, the
music is all that matters.
